The Best Air-fryer Donuts!

Hey y'all! If you're anything like me your sweet tooth is loud and proud. While I have been home with my family during quarantine my sweet tooth has been a little bit noisier I think, and I have been trying to find ways to calm it down. One of those ways has been baking a bit more than usual! Today I am going to let y'all in on one of my new favorite secrets: air-fryer donuts. Hello??? Yes please.

Alright, I adapted my recipe from a couple others I had found online because I am always one to experiment in the kitchen so I feel I cut out the middle man for y'all and found what worked best while I was making these bad boys.

What you need:

- 2 cans of Pillsbury Grands flaky biscuits

- 1 stick of butter

- 3 table spoons confectioners sugar

- 2-3 table spoons water

- 1/4 cup of cinnamon

- 1/2 cup of brown sugar/raw sugar

- an air-fryer

- chopsticks

- something circular to get a good outline for your donut holes

We had a lot of excess of some things so I've modified the measurements a little bit, but a lot of times I cook/bake to taste so good luck to you if you follow that exactly.

Alrighty, I preheated our air-fryer to 320 Fahrenheit and set the timer for 6 minutes. Open your can of biscuits, separate all of the pre-made sections of flaky goodness, and cut a hole into the center of each biscuit. Keep those holes! You're gonna fry them too!

Place 2 or 3 of your raw donuts into your air-fryer and then watch the timer. Once it gets down to 3 minutes: flip those bad boys. This is why you need the chopsticks! We are limiting burns to hands as well as limiting the amount of pressure put on the dough. We don't want to flatten or puncture anything.

After both sides have been cooked for 3 minutes take your donuts out and set them aside. Once the next batch is in you can start your toppings!

To make a glaze mix together the confectioners sugar and the water. Add water (or sugar) until you get the consistency that you want! For this glaze you can just dip your donut into the bowl, or even pour it over them.

Combine the cinnamon and sugar into a bowl as well. For me I found that I needed less cinnamon as it's so much finer than the sugar, and I didn't want that much more of one part to stick on the donuts and preferred it to be more of an equal dispersal. Then melt down your stick of butter and dip your donut into it. The butter will act as the binding agent for your cinnamon and sugar so that after you've dipped in the butter you can dip in your coating.

Keep doing this until you run out of donuts and don't forget to top your donut holes with your preferred toppings as well!

These were so amazing, and my mum who hates donuts probably ate the most whilst I was baking them because every time a donut hole was ready she would come by and it would disappear. (I may have done them all in the cinnamon and sugar for her though because it was her favorite and they're perfect bite size little bits. So really that one's on me.)

I would recommend this air-fryer from Amazon!

I hope y'all try out and enjoy this cute recipe as much as I did! Let me know in the comments if you did and what kind of toppings you tried, and what worked best for you! I already can't wait to make them again.
